It’s All Happening at the Zoo!
On Tuesday May 30, grade five took a field trip the National Zoo. Students had the opportunity to view animal of interest and also enjoyed a program with a zoo naturalist. To wrap up an Animal Studies unit, students had the opportunity to try their hands at studying an animal in the wild— the song birds that use the zoo as their natural habitat. They learned that it is much easier to study animals in the lab than to try to study them in their natural habitat.
