Live Characterization Day

As a culminating activity for Literature 7 and 8, Ms. Korin’s classes enjoyed a “Live Characterization Day” on Wednesday, May 24th. Students came dressed as their favorite character from either a core novel read in class or from one of their independent books read for book reports this year. Some students opted for coming to school in uniform and bringing a symbol that represented the character. Each characterization included a poster explaining the character and identiying three character traits with, of course, facts and details in support.

Each class began with a Meet and Greet session, then segued into an activity in which the students projected their characters into different settings and situations, then predicted the outcome. To keep with the celebratory atmosphere of this day, snacks were served as the students presented their work.
