Scholastic Book Fair

The McLean Book Fair promotes literacy and a love of learning, as well helping to build classroom libraries. The Parents Association receives 25% of the sales from the Book Fair, and the fair has been a huge help to the school in the past. Please continue to support your children and the school by shopping the Book Fair. You can help expand our library selection as well as build classroom resources, by selecting and purchasing books from the Teacher Wish List. Not only is it a great way to help our school, but you can win fun prizes, too. This year, in addition to daily $10 Book Fair Bucks Raffle Drawings, we will also be drawing a lucky winner for a free Bowling party at Strike Bethesda! For each book you purchase from the Teacher Wish List, your name will be entered into the Bowling Party raffle. The winner will be selected on the afternoon of Friday, October 10, so be sure and make those Teacher Wish List purchases early!
Attention Book Fair Parents- The Wish Lists that your children brought home to you have the wrong sales tax. Please calculate 6% sales tax when sending in your payment. Thanks!
HIGHLIGHTS AND SPECIAL DATES TO REMEMBER
- Wednesday, October 8 - Open from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
- Thursday, October 9 - No School. Book Fair closed.
- Friday, October 10 - Parents will have a special chance to shop after attending the Division Heads’ Coffee at 8:30 am.
- Monday, October 13 - Columbus Day - All parents are welcome to join their children for Pizza Lunch. Shop after pizza!
- Tuesday, October 14 - Drive your child to school and shop the Book Fair early! No penalties for driving to school, as long as you stay and shop.
- Wednesday, October 15 - Book Fair is open 8:00 am - 3:45 pm.
- Thursday, October 16 - “Book Fair Extravaganza!” Open from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm! Lower School parents may shop before and after Lower School Parent Math Night!
- Saturday, October 18 - Combine your Fall Festival fun with a “last chance” opportunity to shop the Book Fair! Open 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Co-chairs Cecily Kaufman, Sally Locksley, or Suzy Furman. Thanks in advance for your help.
