I have a hard time with reading. McLean teachers go farther to help me.
If I have a question I can go to my teachers during recess or lunch and they will explain it to me. They just don’t say it … they give me examples or they write it on the SmartBoard.
My favorite subject is math and I do really well in that.
I’m on the cross-country and track and field teams, and I just started playing basketball this year.
I got two trophies for cross-country: Rookie of the Year and the Most Valuable Runner. I got two medals for coming in 7th and 4th places at meets.
I’ve got two goals I’m trying to set: to win 1st place in the Olympics and to get a scholarship for college.
You know Cat Whitehead who graduated from McLean? I’m not related to her, though everyone thinks she is my sister. Cat is my role model for sports.
The banner in the gym, with her name on it for Female Athlete of the Year, I’m going to try and get my name up there.
I have other goals, like trying to get on the Honor Roll more often.
I can accomplish more here at McLean.
